Daria Barybina

Daria Barybina was born in 1988 in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, lives and works in Moscow.

She graduated from Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I Surikov of Russian Academy of Arts named after V.I. Surikov of Russian Academy of Arts (graphic arts), The School of Contemporary Art «Free Workshops», the Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia (Sergey Bratkov’s workshop).

The main motif of Barybina’s artistic practice is an attempt to escape from the picturesque articulated and intelligible narrative into the realm of myth, pseudo-sacralized actions. For the artist is characterized by detachment from the plot – interest in the expressiveness of the picture exceeds the interest in nature. Daria often refers to the plastic of the human body and recreated reality.
The main themes of the artist’s works can be called the clash of eternal experiences and everyday life, beauty, variability, pleasure, extreme experience and contemplation.

Her works are found in the collection of Moscow Multimedia Art Museum.
