On December 14th we open the solo exhibition by belorussian artist Jura Shust “NEOPHYTE”. In his works, he raises questions of the connection between post-industrial and archaic: technology, science, bio-politics with religion, rituals and myths. Working with a wide range of forms and media, Shust constructs the exposition from several mediums — video, graphics and sculptural composition. In the shape of an absurd dystopian fairy tale, the “NEOPHYTE” explores the role of mystery in today’s life of young people living in the post-Soviet space, revealing the omnipresent and comprehensive strategies of control, articulating the reviving struggle for escapism and decentralization.
