Anna Sopova

Anna Sopova (born in 1987) is a Moscow-based artist who works with installations, sculptural objects, photos, and 3D graphics.

Sopova focuses her art on the mechanics of things and the hidden inherent meanings embedded inside, working with archival documents, texts, and found objects. The artist picks up various themes such as sociocultural studies, pseudomorphism, listening device system, time, sound, civil resistance strategies, and others. Her works are inspired by science fiction literature — they combine interdisciplinary and interactive art practices that seem to invite the viewer into a communication field to reflect on some significant issues.
