Sasha Pirogova (b. in 1986 in Moscow) — Russian artist, the winner of the Innovation Prize 2013 in the “New generation” category (for the work «Biblimlen») and the Kandinsky Prize in the nomination “Young Artist. Project of the Year “ (for the work «MONO»). Pirogova graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Faculty of Video and New media of Moscow Rodchenko Art School.

Sasha Pirogova works mostly with videos and performances and she’s one of the most demanded Russian young artists. Pirogova’s works are focused on the philosophical research of continuous, lifelong process and suggest the idea of material and spiritual duality. We can imagine these works as a peculiar exchange of energy. The artist seeks to transform it into positive messages by fixing and translating her feelings to spectators.

In 2016 her personal exhibition «Focuses» was organized in the Central Exhibition Hall Manege (Moscow Manege).

She took part in group projects in The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow, Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin, Whitechapel Gallery in London and others, among them, the 4th Ural Industrial Biennial of contemporary art and the 1st Garage Triennial of Russian Contemporary Art in Moscow.
